Belva Davis

Belva Davis began working at KPIX-TV in San Francisco in 1967 — when there were almost no Black reporters on television. It took decades for TV stations across the United States to catch up with KPIX, and make a sincere effort to report about — and reflect — all of their viewing audience, and not just the views of local white businessmen.

In a six-minute tribute on CBS Sunday Morning, decades’ worth of journalists thanked Davis last month for her leadership in truthful journalism about non-white Americans, and in gaining public recognition of Black achievement.
